@rioolput123 this comment is probably a little too late, but if your looking for this overdriven tone like this from a non master volume then yes definitely would need an attenuator. low volumes have a really nice cleans but can be ear piercing if in a small room.

Obviously the key to a harmonically rich tone is the sound of the amp being driven hard, but please, be tolerant. There really is no problem with using boosters in front of the amp, whether, equalizers, clean boosts or overdrive pedals if it creates the sound you want.
Gary Moore cranks his Marshall amp, he also used a tube screamer in front of it for a long time and nobody can argue with his great tone. Even Hendrix used fuzz with his Marshall!
I say, use whatever you want to get 'your' sound.

@JerryReedijk you don't buy a plexi to play clean, if you want to have a clean sound go fender.
