@dirtshower250 lots of different opinions on this, but lighter rigs with wide, aired down tires will float in deep snow and let you ride on top of the dense or crusty layers. if your area gets light snow that's not super deep or you going to be on rarely plowed back roads, a rig with more weight and skinny, tall tires with deep tread and chains will dig to dirt and give good traction, as long as the snow is not crazy deep. in my opinion, if you don't have low gearing or power, diggers are good.

Lighter is generally better. It's all about reducing your ground pressure.
