Animation of the head and neck of a very young domestic duckling (Anas platyrhynchos; OUVC 10613). Adult birds fuse their skull bones, and so the structure of individual bones must be studied in very young or embryonic birds. CT allows these tiny, delicate bones to be studied in detail. Scanned by Jason Bourke at the Ohio University MicroCT facility (OUµCT). Rendered in Amira and QuickTime by Ryan Ridgely.
