Lovely Duckling - animation of the unfused skull bones of a bird

Animation of the head and neck of a very young domestic duckling (Anas platyrhynchos; OUVC 10613). Adult birds fuse their skull bones, and so the structure of individual bones must be studied in very young or embryonic birds. CT allows these tiny, delicate bones to be studied in detail.
