Hey guys,

I thought I'd take my first foray into the world of videos! :-) I've been inspired by so many people on YouTube, so I thought I'd have a go at doing a Santana cover of my own.

'Samba Pa Ti' (off of the legendary album, 'Abraxas') was the first song that I learned, when I was 13 - haven't played it in about 6 years, so please forgive any slips - and was the song that inspired me to pick up a guitar. I just had a great feeling playing this one today, so decided to switch on the webcam! :-D

For anyone who doesn't know me from MySpace etc., I'll just say that I have plenty of original material at the following sites, if you're interested:

www.myspace.com/adamleeguitarist

www.adamleeguitarist.com

It'd be such an honour to welcome you to either site, and have you visit. :-)

I must offer a BIG thank you to you for watching this, and hope you enjoyed it. And, I must, of course, offer a big thank you to all of my wonderful friends from MySpace, who have encouraged me to make a video of some sort for some time. This is fun! :-) God bless you all.

Best wishes, much peace, love and light,

Adam ;o)

  • u r really good!

  • @introgenesis Thank you so much! :-) God bless you!

  • This is my favorite song, so I tend to be critical when I hear a cover of it. I have heard many covers of Samba Pa Ti on YouTube, ranging in quality from bad to very good. This cover is VERY good. I like your clean fretwork - so many guitarists think speed for speeds sake adds to a song - it does not. Plus, you added just enough to make this version sound like Adam Lee. Keep up the good work!

  • @tlunde53 Thank you so much, Tom! You're very kind - God bless you. Very humbling words! I know what you mean - it's my favorite song, too! Love Santana! He's my biggest guitar influence out there! His music rocks! Can't wait for his new release in September! Hope you're well, and have an awesome week! God bless. ;o)

  • You go! Wow ! :) - Kat Moon

  • @katamoon Thanks so much, Kat! :-) God bless you.

  • From another adam.lee in canada, I love your music videos. i'm only a beginner and i hope to be as good as you some day.

  • Hello Adam, i like your vids. Could you tell me how the background music is done? Do you use midi as background?

Have a nice day. Keep on soaring.

  • I can not believe it took me this long to stumble upon your videos. You are amazing. Samba pa ti has been my favorite song since forever and you do such an amazing job covering it. I just got my guitar in February so I got a long way to go but this will be a song I learn for sure.

  • Ok, now I feel stupid for making that comment. If I portrayed any level of uncertainty I'm sorry, because looking through even a couple of your other videos, knowing what's involved and how far I am from this level, YOU ARE INSANELY INSANELY GOOD! Don't doubt that even a little. Very intelligent person you must be to create such music. That's not say the opposite is true vice versa... I also apologize for mentioning others; you're in the league of your own and very modernized - I love it!

  • I am very critical of everything I watch and I unfortunately usually have too much criticism to even begin to comment. This was so beautifully impressive that I dare say it was perfect! Obviously that's about more than just playing the right notes.

What also has me interested are the details of the instrument and all the hardware. If you don't mind me asking, what guitar is it, what kind of strings (including gauge/tension), and what amp? Also, this was recorded directly or amp by mike? Thanks!
