Taken from a train mounted camera, this video shows the filming of a portion of the Train Mountain Triennial 2012 DVD. The Serpentine was closed in order to stage a group of steam trains coming up the Serpentine, in one area four abreast, for a considerable distance.

If you go to the triennial website, then the picture of the four steam trains near the bottom of the home page, then look at the text under the picture and you will find a link to 7 Idea Productions. You will be able to order either there or through the Train Mountain Company Store.

Guests at TM during a meet, other than a Triennial, simply pay a higher registration fee. Guests during non meet times are generally free with donations accepted, but should call ahead and make arrangements.

That's so much track and switches it's almost hard to believe. I know you guys sold the track and switches years ago when I found you guys but I can't find those pages now so I guess you guys don't anymore? Do you know who makes stuff for this scale like track, switches, train cars and so on if you guys don't anymore?

A great video idea I think would be to show how you guys make the track and switches in your shops? Just an idea. I saw the video of laying track but maybe a switch lay video?

That is quite a few then. I still haven't quite figured out how TM works for guests that want to visit? Might be one of my life time goals but I do have quite a bit of time at only 21 to make the trip. I had a feeling you ran the website and I look forward to more pictures and hopefully some more video.

I will look forward to that video that's being made. Do you know how it will be made available to people that want to view it?

There is approximately 36 miles of track and 840 switches at TM. The track panels are 10 feet in length and made in the TM Track Shop and the switches are made in the TM Switch Shop.

We had 65 from Canada attend the Triennial. Two were from Ontario, so you are not tooooo far away. I do the Triennial website and am still adding pictures. I have nearly 1000 more images to go through, so check periodically for additions.

There will be a professionally produced video released in late September about the 2012 Triennial on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

Also, Who makes the track and switches and so on you use at Train Mountain? I ask because I hope in the future when money and property is in my range I could have a layout of course not the scale of Train Mountain but maybe something more simple. Any info you can provide would be very helpful.

Thanks very much for that info and I do think your correct with the name because YouTube brought up same looking trains when I entered the name.

I took another look at the site since I had already visited it and found the pictures you mentioned which I must have over looked.

The Train Mountian layout is so amazing. I live in Ontario Canada and if I wasn't so far away I would love to see this layout in person but I do look forward to any more video's you post from Train Mountain, lots I hope.

The engine is owned by John Bulger of Walnut Creek, CA, and is propane fired. I am not sure, but it looks like a Sweet Creek.

In the photo gallery of the train mountain triennial website (It won't let me put a link here) there are some stills of this train that you may want to look at.

Hi twatson703, I was wondering if you knew anything about the train that appeared in the first min. of the video on the left track? It's a really nice looking train and I'd like to know more about it and maybe where its was bought/made! Thanks, Todd

Even when it was closed I was able to get from Central Station to South Meadow via another route, and it was open at 4pm just like the work week rules required.
