Local street race ends with blown up Prelude

Turbo Z31 300zx 15lbs vs Turbo H22a on 13lbs. 300zx takes the win but Prelude blows up mid-4th gear. Guess thats what happens when you choose 87 octane at the local fill-up!

I'm looking at this highway with opposing lanes divided by nothing but a grass median and thinking that all it would take is for one of these incompetent boy-racers to loose control (an all too likely scenario) for him to end up flying across the road into oncoming traffic, perhaps killing someone's kids. Why not join the SCCA or NASA, or go to your local drag strip where you can race for real without the risk of killing someone?

This video is over 4 years old, it's not in the middle of a downtown city, and I don't see 500 hundred cars going by either direction. I'm not trying to be rude, but your comment seems to think we were "drag racing" thru the middle of a city full of people. These were kids, btw, at the time. You never goofed off growing up?

I'm a full time student running a part time business, so I understand your concerns 1000%, in fact, i'm the biggest believer in proper OSHA safety, etc., when in a shop environment. I feel that since I only have less than a handful of videos over the span of 5 years showing such immature driving, that you could be a lot more useful informing present-day street-racing up-loaders.

was it a stock h22a? if so who the fuck would boost an 11:1 comp motor and the octane has nothing to do with it its the fuel it was tuned on that matters oh well shouldve sleeved it and built it with low comp pistons i wander what his setup is...

Why is methanol injection so damn awesome, and whats its purpose, if octane has nothing to do with helping fully build/forced induction engines?

@fatboytrix I count 9 or 10 cars and a semi going by in the lane opposite these kids. Not only does a grass median not stop a car from crossing into oncoming traffic, it usually exacerbates the problem by worsening the loss of control on the way over. This is still a stupid thing to do that puts other people's lives at risk. And no, I never goofed off like that. I grew up around race tracks and did my flat out driving on-track in the SCCA.
