According to claims of people and paranormal investigating shows, this closet door in the Moore's bedroom is supposed to open and close on its own. It is thought to be the ghost of Herman Moore, the 11 year old that was brutally murdered on June 10, 1912. Also murdered that night was the father, Josiah Moore; the mother, Sarah Moore; their children Herman; Boyd, Paul, Katherine, and two friends of the children, Ina and Lena Stillinger. The murderer was never found, and the house is said to be haunted by the Moore family, along with the Stillinger girls.
In the video, my friend Cassie and I tried to think of ways the door was opening and closing by itself. Given the limited time, we didn't have the opportunity to stay very long and try other options other than what you see in the video. There was a slight draft, but not enough to open and close a door, and all vents were off. The floor was uneven and squeaked when moved on, but as you'll see in the video, we were still, but the door still moved.
Our goal was to disprove and debunk the claim, but we had a difficult time doing so. Your constructive assistance would be appreciated. :)
@GratedTopping Yes, there was another window in the other room, almost straight from that closet door. We were kind of wondering the same thing. The window was closed in the other room, but we did not check that window for any drafts, just the one in the bedroom. I wish we would have thought to check the other one. That is another possibility. Thanks again!

@GratedTopping Oh yeah, I never thought of that suction, but you're right! The attic door is just right outside that bedroom. I don't think the windows can open in the attic, but yes, there still would be a suction. Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I ever go back!

I read a comment from another person on a video about the closet: "There is large square opening to the attic. The sunlight was shining through the roof up there. The door is affected by the suction from the attic." Did you see this attic? This sounds like a reasonable possibility.

@windyseashores Yes, I saw the window in the same room. I was wondering if there was a window in the next room that could have possibly been opened & if a breeze was coming from that and then through possible holes inside the closet. If so, maybe a breeze from the other room was opening the door and a bit of a breeze in the room with the closet was making it close?
It was said that it was a light door. It was neat to watch and theorize about other possible explanations.

@GratedTopping There was a window right across from the closet door. I think you can see it in the video. My friend in the video pointed out there was a small breeze coming in, but at the times she could feel it, the door wasn't moving. Also, the floors are really old and moved, but that also didn't cause the door to move everytime. It's definitely worth going back and debunking further...we were really limited on time, otherwise we would have kept trying to debunk it. Thanks for your input!

I noticed holes in the wall when you looked inside; could they possibly be a cause for the door opening (a draft coming in)? In the room opposite the closet, was there a window open in there or holes in the wall, too?
