@HTHAMMACK1 I've been listening to ww for about 2 years and even watch GFQ when he's on with them. That said, it's not hard to pick parts of nearly every show and every blog post where he mentions Apple (or any other ms competitor) and either gives them a backhanded compliment or spins it to favor Microsoft. He's a Microsoft guy & as he would say, I get it. He's a good writer but he is certainly not some unbiased journalist, and I think his opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.

@Cyb3rGlitch As a former Android user, it is a massive problem. How you can deny this is beyond me.

@sdamonamarth "this will fail."
LOL! Yeah right, Windows is so prone to failing. Even the less than stellar versions of Windows don't even come close to failing. You are clueless if you don't think developer support for Windows 8 is going to be incredibly strong, especially considering it's their first real tablet OS.

@pixeltater You obviously haven't listened to Paul Thurrott or this show very often. Paul Thurrott has been one of Microsoft's biggest critics. In fact, they went through about a dozen episodes of Windows Weekly where Paul didn't nothing but bitch about Microsoft.
So you are flat wrong.

Paul consistently talks in circles and spins everything in favor of Microsoft. I like listening to the guy, but I immediately consider the opposite point of view for everything he says. Get Paul on Erik's talk show and let Erik throw some pointed questions at him for once.

lol @ Tom discovering the Charms menu.
I wonder if MS will create an "intro" video/test ala OSX Lion as a way to make sure users are familiar with the most-important changes..

@Cyb3rGlitch Agreed. There is "fragmentation" on all platforms, including iOS. Where's Siri on the iPhone 4 and 3GS?

@sdamonamarth The point here is that businesses will have to move away from XP, and while the general trend will be going to Windows 7 the fact of the matter is, XP is on it's last legs. Once MSFT pull support for it, businesses will be forced to upgrade or cover the huge costs associated to supporting it internally. Developers may very well not only develop for Windows 8, but I can guarantee that they won't develop for XP...

developers ARE NOT going to develop ONLY for windows 8 when alot of the world is still on XP! this will fail.

Android fragmentation isn't as big of an issue as most people make it out to be. If you're really concerned about it, just get an official Google phone (i.e. the Nexus phones). That means you get the advantage of cutting edge hardware + openess + latest updates. Best of all three worlds.
