Climbing the Pico volcano, Azores, 19th Feb 2010

Look at this view of volcano Pico during winter ! Pico is located in the Azores islands. Impressive views over the Atlantic ocean, isn't it? I'm not going to forget that. Yannick, another hiker, took a picture of me with his tele lens from the other side of the crater. I'm looking forward to see the result. Yannick walked from a distance; although we stayed connected by mobile phones during the whole climbing. Not so comfortable to walk on a mix of basalt rocks and snow... I'm sorry for the Italian accent.. something related to both : the cold and the emotion :)
Last words : go go go for the Azores!

This is the island were i was born and still live in,Pico island,simply beautiful. Great video but 1 correction the mountain has 2345 meters and not 2300 (^_^).Its even+beautiful to climb it in the summer in the early morning(03 or 04 am)so that when u reach the top aprox. 2hours later you'll be able to see the sunrise from up there, its something unique in the world believe me. You can take food so you can stay through the day and see sunset, spend the night in tent and go down in the morning.

Thanks 4 the video, what a view in winter!. I climbed by night for sunrise but no visibility because was trapped in rainy clouds. If you climb be prepared for heavy rain and cold!

Mama mia, che vista stupefacente!!! Puoi vedere tutto l' oceano Atlantico!! Ma tu sei stato molto fortunato perche alla cima del vulcano aveva neve!! Spero uno giorno che saro' abile e andro' in Azores.. Baci;)
