she is singing live. but as a characteristic of her songs she uses several recordings of her own voice in the background and that gives the impression of this ghostly voice and the impression that it doesnt sound live. that´s why

I also use this kind of stuff when I perform. and sometimes I have troubles in convincing that I was really singing.

Enya's music cannot be reproduced live because it's all lab work, synthesizers, sampling and electronic work and thats the miracle that she creates in the studio all by herself, and what makes her music sound like it does. Everything has its con, and electronic music like Enya's cant be played live unless you playback it. Thats the reason why she has never given a concert. Instead of complaning for that you should understand the work behind each of her songs and what it makes them special.

@oasedlacek No Brasil este tipo de música não tem valor, as pessoas estão acostumadas com latino, ivete e outras coisas, a Enya canta em teatros , canta em locais preparados por uma auréa de tranquilidade , dificilmente veremos um show dela aqui, mas soube que ela gostaria de fazer um canção no pantanal e Fernando de Noronha, mas parece que o projeto não foi adiante, bom só nos resta ouvi-la via internet.
