@GuenterHaub Well, Vivaldi says Allegro . In Vivaldi's time tempi were generally quite faster then what we intend today; The same for slower tempos. But, really, is just a matter of interpretation. this is what counts; If you like it slower there is no problem if you keep the same intention of the composer.
The only thing I think is that we need to avoid the influence of late romantic influence; fvor the rest choose the tempi you feel more appropriate.
