Jacobite songs are countless. The loyalty of the few who did the right thing by Scotland and the Legitimate Monarch of Scotland, are still revered Today..

Politics aside The Jacobites were formidable, and not even a trained army. They fought for values long gone. So were are the songs about British admiration of the time? For those who sported the black cockade have no honour to boast off now, do they?

I dont know the point your making here, No one said that the Stewarts were perfect, but at least offer an alternative soloution if you can? There was no Republic in Scotland so what is your preference? Hanovarian Scotland perhaps? The jacobites had many reasons to fight, many did for Scotland many for the dying embers of the Clan system, but without a shred of doubt is that many fought from loyalty to thier king.

It is that deep unyeilding loyalty that should be honoured.

@kendosendo And when Sophia of Hanover was made heir to Anne in preference to James Stuart the Old Pretender she was by degree more Scottish than James was :-) She had a Scottish parent whilst James only had a Scottish grand-parent! Bonnie Prince Charlie on the other hand only had one Scottish great-grand-parent. Though I agree with iTzScadey folk should just enjoy the songs :-)

Who cares about the politics etc this tune speaks of? it's a great catchy song, by a great group, be you a supporter of the Jacobite or Williamite cause, put the differences aside, and enjoy the music

I was raised a Jacobite by my maternal grandmother. "Those Germans are NOT the royal family!", she told me often enough. Today, I have no use for any monarchy, but I am still proud of my Scottish heritage, Jacobitism included.
