Sue Cook interviews Douglas Adams on the live, early evening BBC 1 magazine format show, "Nationwide". Adams appeared on the programme during the dinner break of the studio recording for episode 4 of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" TV series. Is it my imagination, or is young Douglas in flirty mode here? Maybe that's why, towards the end, a slightly nervous Sue almost calls him *Richard* Adams (author of "Watership Down), who was probably more well-known than Douglas, in those days. The clip of the Vogon ship over London has been trimmed, but the one at the end left intact, so you can see the lovely Cleo Rocos collapse from the effects of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. This was the very first time any clips from the forthcoming TV series were actually broadcast.
