My thankful admiration goes with Brad Mehldau, all his solo concerts are profound moments of bliss and art.

My thanks to Bradmehldaufan for hinting at this bootleg. It is from the same session.

  • where was this recorded? can i find the whole concert somewhere?

  • @radiobicycle Three tracks played in BBC studios for Jamie Cullum radio show. Mp3s are out there.

  • great upload.

24/192 is a bit overkill isn't it? I'm impressed you can here the difference in it from 24/96, I can't.

  • @gricka31 Thanks!

The difference is music that sounds more like it were being played in the room rather than coming out of speakers. It is clearer with greater details in what surrounds the music (let's say for example the piano mechanism or the way the chords last longer). Unfortunately, the main issue is the price of the equipment to make most of this format. Check it out in a high-end stereo store.

Just like HD in video, 24/192 audio gives you more details in the sound picture.

  • Thumbs up if you, Brad's fans, want Brad to publish his music in 24bit/192khz aka Studio Masters -> come on Nonesuch Records!!

  • so.. ahh

  • @TheJohnroney "why all the radiohead?" => GTFO

  • @geafraed thank you.

  • why all the radiohead!? brad plays the pants off everything. #1 supporter, but i'm losing interest.

  • beautiful

  • @geafraed Yeah, I'm in the process of buying a DAC, I was surprised by the number of manufacturers who make stuff with 24/192 capability. It's good you can hear the difference, as I'm sure lots of people who shell out loads for equipment really can't.
