We need more congressmen like Representative Ackerman to take even more than the SEC to task.  These and other regulators need to be taken to the woodshed and spanked. As more and more time goes by, America will be haunted by the trifling Bush administration. There is one good thing about Bernie Madoffs fuckup--a lot of rich people are pissed off. Rich people won't stand for this. Sadly this same fervor will not be put forth by Congress for the average American.

this is complete nonsense. First of all, don't think I'm a democrat, yet I know enough to not place the blame on a single party. If you want to start pointing fingers start at the republican party due to its Reagonomics views. Now, its not a party its the people, the tradition of the banking and financial system and our way of doing things. Think before you write. If we the people start asking where all this money is going then we will start to find out.

According to campaign finance data (Newsmeat, etc), Hillary Clinton received about $28,000 in Madoff money; Lautenberg (D-NJ) $12K; Markey (D-MA) $43K; Schumer (D-NY) $44K; Wyden (D-OR) $33K. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, $100K! In total, Dem's took in some $340,000 from the Madoff family, about 9x more than Repub's did. And now that Democrats are in control of White House, Senate and Congress our stinking journalists are not interested in following the money trail, are they.
