Here's how I see it. He said in february that he would cut the deficit in half knowing full wel he would not be able to do it. He knew that with the stimulus and healthcare there would be no way to slash the deficit like he said. Therfore he was lying. Or he actually thought that he could spend money like a sailor on shore leave and still reduce the deficit. In which case he is an idiot. I don't think he is an idiot.
