Monster Hunter could well have become as popular as Pokemon in the west, if it wasn't for the difficulty. In Pokemon when you've picked Charmander and lose against Brock, you come back with an Oddish and own him. In Monster Hunter, you WILL lose against the Kut-Ku at least once in the beginning and lose half an hour of your life... Most Americans can't take that level of frustration. I hope this doesn't mean Monster Hunter 3 will be too easy though...
