  • What did he use for bait? it looks like it was hooked in the mouth! (for those who dont know: asian carp are filter feeders and dont go after normal bait)

  • @XxStormPowerxX a fat box

  • last time a mexican at iowa caught a 3ft and 7 inch asian carp and he needed 4 people to drag the carp in the box

  • @SuperSpikedup

I'm pretty sure they kept it and killed it

  • mad props, he took his time, probably had the drag set perfectly on the rinky dink pole... managed to reel in a very nice fish. that earns my respect

  • Listen to the guy rambling on about the line not being heavy enough to handle the fish... I caught a 23 pound grass carp on 8 pound line, it all depends on how you play the fish. Nice catch, hope it was killed quickly - kill all the flying carp you can

  • Asian carp, also known as SiverCarp was introduced by Catfish farmers in the southern US.Souther American introduced these species to their ponds decades ago, hoping they’d filter out unwanted algea. This all worked fine until the ponds breached during flooding in the early 1990s and the carp found their way into rivers that feed into the Mississippi. Then they found their way into the Mississippi and started working their way north, toward the Great Lakes

  • did you kill it since it an invasive fish or release it no offense?

  • @CaneFu They can be caught on baited hooks but this is more difficult. I don't think its worth the effort for these monstrosities.

If you're wondering, the guy in the video was using ye ol' jig n' curly.

  • good catch, thanks for sharing.

  • nice fish....take a look here. at my asian carp:) youtube.com/watch?v=LgRu6hZXlzY
