  • Oh the memories...

  • @Riffharder Elvis Costello was great there, also remember Split Enz playing "Charlie" seemed particularly good there. I remember the truck for the portaloos broke down or something & they were totally choked up - gross

  • Yeah..81.. Hello Sailor played in 80 and Brazier was off his face after returning from USA.. He dropped the mike at one stage and couldn't pick it up !

  • I went to sweetwaters 1981,82.83 and saw so many kiwi bands, still got my tickets and programmes for 2 of them and a copy of sweetwaters news that was printed onsite.got posters too.

  • The forthcoming HELLO SAILOR CD "HOT NIGHTS AT THE GLUEPOT ON PONSONBY" features ~ All Around This Town, Bad Bad Boy, Billy Bold, Blue Lady, Closing Time, Daughter Of Angelique, Dr. Jazz, East Of Eden, Greylands, Gutter Black, In Your Company, It's All Over, Late Night Music, Latin Lover, Long Gone For Good, Lying In The Sand, Mathematician, Mr. Asia, Never Fade Away, New Tattoo, Raging With The Storm, Satelite Town, Sea Of Heartbreak, Six Piece Chamber, When Your Light Are Out... Oooh, yeah!

  • are there videos of Sweetwaters?....would love to see concert where Elvis Costelloe played...anyone remember that one...and the fire eating?...pls post if you do

  • Oh yeah... and I still have my tickets :D

  • Tthis was definitely 1981 not 1980 (I was there for both). Excellent none the less.

  • dont know what year but i was there went to the first three and was there for this night. Anymore sweetwaters video out there?. Someone sent me a photo of us at the first one when i was fifteen and i almost bloody cried remembering it. aaahhh...good times.

thanks for posting. Brazier is one of the best front men of his day, even gives Bonn a run for his money.

  • pretty sure this was 1981, not 1980....I don't think Karen Hay started doing RWP until the beginning of 1981.
