Oh really? The Lib Dems were the only party to predict the economic downturn, the only big party to oppose Iraq. If the Lib Dems had sufficient say in how this country is run then it would most likely be in a better state. They are also the only party willing to take the EU seriously and use it to our advantage

You see prison as a mandatory method of dealing with crime, it isn't.

The goal is rehabilitation of citezens so shit like knife crime doesn't happen.

That method was a form of rehabilitation. When the suspect knows what he did was wrong, and knows why he did it, he won't do it again.

Only truly ill-minded people like Charlie Manson are where this would probably not work.

The Lib Dems did not by any stretch of the imagination predict the economic downturn. Vince Cable did make some comments about the overpricing of the housing market, but did not (and specifically disavowed having claimed to) predict the global economic crisis which was caused primarily by the American mortgage markets.

Nick Clegg is so inspirational. You watch him in the debates during the time when people ask questions, the Torries and Labor just answer the question with preplanned party lines, Nick actually bothers to remember the names of the questioner and talks directly to them. He also obviously cares about the answer.

Clegg will take the Lib dems to power, just watch him do it, and what a great change it will be to have a leader who cares about policy instead of enforcing tired old ones.

I agree with him on both issues. EU, and crime. Rehabilitation should be the focus of dealing with crime, not 'punishment', by throwing people in prison and throwing away their lives.

I so wish we had politicians like him in the US. Instead we end up with "blue dog" democrats that prevent anything from getting done.
