a much higher quality video of my singing arc, its powerd of 12 volts, and 555 timer

i think its a very good result for a 555

BTW the humming sound is not nearly as loud in real life, lol i probably didnt filter the 12volt 8 amp supply properly, how ever it doesnt use any were as near that amount of energy only around 60 watts

im currently testing and tuning it trying more filters, and hopefully in the next month i will make it into stereo, with pcb and will be powerd off homemade SMPS all on the same pcb so its compact

i can just amagine doing hoome work and having this on my table singing XD

well remember to SUBSCRIBE to be updated to all my experiments and this project

ANY COMMENT IS GOOD PEOPLE

EDIT: August 06 2008

well i have etched pcb and have reinforced the higher current parts with solter and 1.5mm wire:) for a higher effiency, i have only to buy a new drill bit and some irfp540's if it is sucesfull i will upload a new video and the sound should be much greater as it is stereo and i am making a much better gap for the plasma, and will also design a SMSU if that works too i will make it all on single pcb

  • do you even lift bro? but srsly what would happen if i put my finger in there

  • @ troubledseed the sound that you hear I believe is coming from the arc. It is an audio input to pin 5 of the 555 timer which modulates the output pulse's wave length and frequencies. If I'm not mistaken, therefore creating sound

  • So the music is coming from the energy arc? or is it just a speaker out of view that makes sound when you connect the arc.. i have no idea what im looking at and i cant say its fake or anything cause i dont understand what im looking at.. seems cool though

  • Hey im in the process of making this . can u give me some tips and maybe send me the schematic you are using?

  • Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Then again, he probably has less people to talk to about what he's doing than I (I'm a programmer). I was just thinking about that - how many people do I know that are interested in electronics. Rarely anyone.

  • Very Cool! Its fun to know about electronics isnt it? I wish i had more time to mess with the stuff myself. Haven't breadboarded in years.

  • Very good job. I want to build a small Tesla coil and play music through it myself. Also for some odd reason the two times you reignited the arc it made me laugh.

  • Nice! thats pretty cool!
