David Chamberlain Ph.D. of the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health and James W. Prescott, Ph.D. discusses the trauma associated with genital mutilation of infants.

"The greatest crime against humanity is the torture and mutilation of children. Child abuse and neglect, particularly in its extreme forms, represents a form of torture and mutilation. Not commonly recognized as child abuse and neglect and a form of torture and mutilation is the ritual mutilation of genitals of children (male and female). One reason for the non-recognition of these crimes of genital mutilation and torture is their common occurrence and their support by religious and social traditions of various kinds. Another reason is the denial and/or indifference to the pain that is being inflicted upon these children."
James Prescott, Ph.D.
Developmental Neuropsychologist, Cross-Cultural Psychologist

  • See, Fine-touch pressure thresholds in the adult penis. British Journal of Urology Oct 22, 2006 that concluded The glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised penis. The transitional region from the external to the internal prepuce is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised penis and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis. Circumcision ablates the most sensitive parts of the penis.

  • "A report published in the British Journal of Urology assessed the type and amount of tissue missing from the adult circumcised penis by examining adult foreskins obtained at autopsy. Investigators found that circumcision removes about one-half of the erogenous tissue on the penile shaft. The foreskin, according to the study, protects the head of the penis and is comprised of unique zones with several kinds of specialized nerves that are important to optimum sexual sensitivity."

  • Circumcision rates have fallen rapidly in the last 5-10 years. Part of the reason is because a "bunch of nobodies" care's enough about the health and well being (physical and psychological) of the next generation of children.

And why do you think genital cutting of children to be funny?

  • Lmao look at all the comments from people typing paragraphs stating why circumsizing is wrong. No offence but do you people think that a stranger is going to 'change there mind' just because a bunch of nobodies have wrote a paragraph or two on why circumsizing is bad?? No.

  • And there are dozens of studies showing that you're LESS prone to catching STDs/HIVs if you've been circumsized.. I don't really care much about it even though i find that UNcircumsized penises ugly.. I'm sure there are pros and cons but so far nothing has convinced me and so im PROcircumsize.

  • Opps sorry read your comment wrong.

  • lourak's comment was unbelievable. No decrease in sexual feeling? Is that for real? Cutting half of the skin of a baby's penis and leaving him deformed is somehow good? Forcing that kind of indescribable pain on a baby that was previously treated so delicately, is somehow beneficial? Perhaps this moron would like to present his/her evidence so we can place them side-by-side for comparison. There are thousands of mutilated men shouting out against this, that's my evidence.

  • How many of religious whackos like you know that that circumcision nonsense was not even in the original covenant, but invented and added by the priests Ca. 550BCE?

And further, just how does a superstitious belief morally and ethically justify mutilating the genitals of helpless infants?

  • I think we are all well aware of the biblical mythology behind this atrocious sexual abuse of children. This BS is often repeated everywhere, so much so that some have been thoroughly brainwashed into believing it.
