  • Interesting. I have a Lotus Elise Sc brand new and am bored of it. Before I had a Corvette C6 Ls3 and got bored of it (too German). My favorite has been a C5 convert. I loved the sound of it and it could be driven cool or fast and was very reliable. Now a guy proposed me to switch my Elise with his Griffith500. I must say I am tempted. Two things frighten me a little bit : reliability (I am not exactly a good mec) and security (I am not a pro driver and I am prudent but I was told this car is r

  • @cedwat2 Very Interesting. Exactly the C6 LS3 was my dream as a next car, but here in Switzerland Basel country side, they raised the taxes vor big engined cars wizh high hpextremly. Where do you live? The Griffith is a very simple car. The only, common, problem is the immobilizer and alarm. My TVR specialist removed all this stuff and since then i had no problems. The engine is a simple single cam ex Rover V8, as it was used in Range Rovers, Rover Saloons and Morgans.

  • @cedwat2 BECAUSE I'm a former car mechanic, i try to choose alwais cars in a good shape. I prefer womans cars, no young guys cars. Why do you find elise SC boring and C6 too "german" The Griffith is a easy to drive car, but if you are not a good driver, beware of too much speed in bends. Its reactions are twisty and not easy to control. Most impressive is the low end grunt. Much better than the C6, because of 35% less weight and short all over gearing.

  • Do you still own this car ? What is your general judgement about it ? I am wondering to get one.

  • @cedwat2 No, unfortunatly, i sold it to a collector with a good benefit. But i regret that i sold it, because the mixture of power, sound, handling, lightnes and reliability and the amasing shape of the body and the classic and not overstyled interior is amazing. To sell it, was my bigest mistake in my "car-career" I just saw the money... and it was wrong. I still own my Caterham S7 and a Crossle 9S, but these two are too brutal, especially the crossle.

  • My C5 modded was the perfect mix in my opinion: very reliable, comfortable, huge V8, beauty full sound. The only problem was the auto gearbox : not sporty. So now I hesitate between a Ls2 or ls3 which I would mod (long headers, etc) and a Griffith. If you follow my name you will videos of my former cars.

  • Thanks for those explanations. I live in France. I say my Ls3 was too "German" in comparison with my C5 because it was too modern and not noisy enough (it had stock exhaust). Of course the performances are just awesome, but you don't feel them enough. The Elise SC has incredible performances and handling too but I don't like a small engine and it's noise
