On Wednesday 10th September she steamed for the first time since 1964!

This coming weekend 13th and 14th is Steam Gala where it is HOPED that Manston will be in light steam. Not in service

I hope she will be in steam. There is still a lot of testing to be done before she is in service. I do not know when she will be in service and at this moment in time I doubt that Southern Locomotives know either.

We are coming down from Norfolk over 3rd and 4th October to see her in steam. Southern Locomotives Limited have done a great job she looks fantastic

I can't wait to see Manston when I visit the Swanage Railway next year in late July/early August.

Manston will be leaving Swanage Railway for Eastleigh 100 at the end of May. Not sure if it will be back or will go on elsewhere.

the reason manston could not take part in the steam gala was that she only has steam brakes working ( to brake the loco) and has no vacum brake yet (for the coaches)

She was never scheduled to be anything other than light steam for the Gala. She did more than was expected by double heading with Eddystone. Today Monday, the commisioning has continued with Manston making light engine runs up the line.

Thursday she received her boiler insurance certificate. Today Friday she steamed into Platform 2 at Swanage under her own steam. Commissioning work is continuing.
