Seems like the possibility of peoples horrific real-life experiences resulting in maladaptive behavior/feelings is not being considered. Medication may be welcome, it may be needed, it maybe just works @ times. Of course just about anything can be over or under-emphasized. Tough balance. Seems to me that the psych world has a listening position, generally speaking.

To demonise psychiatrists is to do harm to people suffereing from Schizophrenia, a mental illness who's most insidious feature is to convince the sufferer that he is well while others organise to persecute him. This poor man's beliefs are well systematised and persecutory; he is 'egocentric', exhibits anhedonia and 'flattening of affect'. Yes - you got it!

@finishstrongdoc the laws of Physics. Coercion of conscience is irrelevant under socialist systems. Freedom of conscience only works as a political system if a Higher Order is recognized. Psychiatrists are shot under socialism; they aren't needed, because everyone's "conscience" is the same. Pseudo-psychiatrists under socialism are really appartchicks of the state- "Death Panels".
