man that harvester sure gets them clean from right out the damp soil. i guess you need to prevent excess weight and saving room in collectors.

@snickernute24 sugar beets are starchier but just as sweet. I have tasted both sugar beets have consistency almost like a potatoe

@Dragonklaw1 The beets are on a 3 - 4 year rotation with soybeans and wheat.

they have been tried and don't work in the sticky, gummy soils we have here. the shoes they use don't work very well with this type of ground.
