US and German militaries cooperated in the development of the Leopard and the M1 Abrams. Both tanks were born from the failed joint MBT 70 super tank concept which the Germans pulled out of due to costs. After the Yom Kippur war they realized that the super tank concept was needed but with upgraded armour. In the 1970's the US Army tested both the Leopard and M1 prototype and found they were compariable but the M1 had better armour. However the tests convinced the US to use the 120mm Rheinmetal.

As a proud American, you cannot fuck with German armor. They are simply the best in the world.

See now, we do have completely kickass M1A2s but hey, if you think about it. German's got it all different and has better experience in a way of making.

Just look on how we just got whooped by only a few Panzer IVs or King Tigers during WW2. I mean DAMN!!!!

German military and the companies making the weapons and other tech are innovative. As of now, I still say this is the best tank in the world.
