Using techniques discovered only a few nights ago by foxUnit01, singleplayer commands can now be used in multiplayer. The most important feature of this, is that it brings over singleplayer's targeting and npc spawning instead of the skewed multiplayer versions. However along with that is the ability to use the same scripting engine that powered Freelancer's single player campaign, in multiplayer.

Everything you see in this video is 100% in-game. The Liner that spawns there is placed entirely in mission scripting. It is a regular ship, and not a solar placed by a map editor. The Rogues that spawn are given the objective to attack the Liner. The music changes are entirely ingame and scripted around the current events.

This is SUPER experimental. There is no telling what would happen on a live server with multiple people, or what side effects this could possibly have. But it is a very neat new toy that can hopefully be improved upon as more is learned.

  • Did you keep working on this?

  • This would be really cool to use for random events. Random invasions, random escort/SOS missions... cool stuff. Would be neat to fly with some buddies and suddenly "THIS IS TRANSPORT TITTYFUCK-4-NINER, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK."

  • Is there a forum or a website from where you learn all of this??

  • @rasauul The tutorials section on TLR.

  • Wow! Where can i find these?

  • wow...and those missile effects

  • Kick-ass.

  • I love this game!

  • I don't know what's so bad on my previous comment that I got minus. I just asked if he did those cool looking effects himself.
