"As One: Individual action collective power"
Every day, millions of people around the world collaborate. We join, share, and cooperate with others from different countries and backgrounds, across organizations and industries. While some collaborations may be unintentional, others are quite deliberate. Some succeed; others fall short of their goals. The study of collaboration may be about working together, but it isn't necessarily about working as one.
Adding the phrase "as one" to another word changes its entire meaning, presenting an opportunity to turn individual action to collective power. But how many ways are there to work as one? The As One project has used advanced data analytic techniques to discover eight different models of collective leadership. The new language goes well beyond the popular dichotomy between command-and-control versus collaborative.
In his talk, Mehrdad Baghai, who has co-authored As One with Deloitte Global CEO Jim Quigley, will share intro due this new language for collective leadership and announce a new project to collect 10,000 examples of effective collective behavior.
