why not just leave it be.. why would you want it all agro, fair enough your teaching ppl about the snake but no need to stress it out.

There is one type of snake that is non-venemous but it's bite has killed people. It is the watersnake it has an anti-coagulant in it's saliva and people with weak hearts have had a heart attack because it didn't stop bleeding right away.

Gartersnakes do NOT have fangs or venom, and are usually not aggressive or tempermental, they are harmless and the bite almost tickles I know I have been bitten by them a couple of times when first captured. THEY WILL DEFEND themselves tho.

@TomChair I said that to someone wo thought it was a legit put-you-in-the-hospital classic venous snake. It's not. But like a lot of snakes, it does, however, have venom. Read my comment on September 20th!!!!!! I know that shit.

(an no, poionous and venomous are much different) This is just a harmless eastern garter snake, that was BEING MISSHANDLED and naturally defended itself. Pick it up nicely and it won't act like this. (except sometime lol but still it's not as bad) I've been bit by much worse.
If your afraid of getting bitten to the point where you can't handle the snake right -- no reason to pick it up. Just makes you look like an idiot.
