A vintage Special Effects Homage to Star Trek the Motion Picture. All Model SFX Scenes are cut together in chronological order. And in Star Trek the Motion Picture it's tons of Special Effects. 30 Minutes SFX. I had to split it into 3 parts.

4:35-5:05 and 5:57 - 6:50 were not in the original. But to late to cut it out now. Thank you Johnedewey for your Hint!

Quote Wikipedia: The special effects for the movie became one of the biggest production problems. Half way through production it was decided that original effects company working on the project, Robert Abel and Associates, were not up to the task of producing the large number of scenes. In March of 1979 Paramount offered Douglas Trumbull's effect company, Future General, a virtual blank check if they could get all the effects work done by the Christmas release date. Most of the work done by Robert Abel up to that point was scrapped (the wormhole sequence seems to be the only "Able" effects scene that made it into the final film). Trumbull went ahead with the job to re-visualize and rework most of the effects scenes, using the same crew and equipment from the just finished Close Encounters of the Third Kind and even subcontracted work out to John Dykstra

  • It still amazes me that this movie didn't do too well. The special effects, and the music, were pretty impressive and incredible, especially considering it was made in 1979!

  • @tall32guy I think you right.. but only the Pictures are that great. The Music is NOT from the Original Music Score. I had to exchange it so it hopefully will NOT be deleted like 5 of my other Sci-Fi Tributes using original movie Soundtrack.

  • I like the music on this. What is it please?

  • @BUBIKINS I cant tell.. im afraid this Video gets deleted if i do. So sorry. 5 beloved precious tributes of mine already got deleted because of music Veto. :(

  • @UFOSPACE1999 To the Idiot posted THIS stupid Statement: I had to exchange it so it hopefully will NOT be deleted like 5 of my other Sci-Fi Tributes using original movie Soundtrack.

  • @tall32guy This movie shows what star trek really meant to Roddenberry, compared to star wars for example. Star Trek is more about exploration, and the amazement of discovery.

  • @johnedewey , correct. They were added for a special anniversary DVD. There is even commentary about what the CGI artists added and how they wanted to "honor" to original effects by trying not to change too much, but to embelish the effects a bit. However, the brief effect shown around 6:30 was in the original film.

  • You know, someone once said something about the scene at 3:20 with Spock flying through what looks like the Eplsoline (however) station, there seems to be what looks like the face/mask of Darth Vader. And at the bottom probsbly looks like an image of Miss Piggy. And... I'd say that they'd be right. Really on the Darth Vader seeing
