Decided to change my set up a bit for this cover. Instead of using digital gearbox tones, I mic'd my amp. To me, this sounds so much better. It sounds a lot more raw, plus I get to use my effects pedal properly, which is perfect for a Muse song haha.

Muse are one of my favourite bands so I decided to do this cover. The live version has cooler guitar, which i learnt. This is my first Muse cover currently public on my channel. Some of you might remember 2 old vids I had up a few years ago of this song and Knights of Cydonia. So if you are one of those people, this cover is for you :D

I found the tabs at ultimate-guitar.com, but changed a few bits around to make them sound better. As with the whammy solo, I just went crazy with harmonics and the note "e".

  • I looking for a new amplifier.. I was thinking Peavey Valveking 112 like yours. should I get it? ;)

  • @NoyElankry the cleans are very good through the stock speaker, but the distortion is pretty muddy. i swapped out my speaker for a veteren 30 to make it sound good. so if you're willing to do that, then yes! :D

  • @HyperzzzXD because the note "e" is on both the 7th fret a-string, and the second fret d-string

  • Warm your tubes up before using ;-)

    First stand-by and on.

  • @gertjeeeh i know :P i just did it for video-effect. i'm surprised nobody pointed this out until now!

  • @Sabbz22 i have a problem with my mic (Blue snowball USB) when I try to record my amp, it sounds different that the original sound, sounds a lot more acuter that the original sound and it just happens when I use a heavy distortion, in clean and crunchy sounds it sounds ok. if you know something about it please help by giving me some info, I know is not your mic but maybe you may know something about it

    thanks great vids!
