This is the Casio FH20 video mode at 210fps with resolution 480x360. It's the only usable high-speed mode as 420fps and 1000fps modes are so tiny in resolution as to render them nothing more than a gimmick.
The image quality here is ok, it's sharp enough considering the resolution. The bokeh is harsh and distracting but this is to be expected from a 20x optical lens made for a small-sensor camera. The movement of the frame-rate is quite smooth. The colours are sometimes a little flat, but this can be easily improved in post-processing. With some creative experimentation it's possible to make something fun and interesting for the Youtube audience.
The control is very good, the camera feels good in the hands and the focus (auto & manual) is decent. The viewfinder is a little darker than the LCD screen, even with upping the brightness to +2 there were times it seemed a little dark.
Sunshine is key to making these videos...indoors you will need a very bright light to compete.
I think the only camera which does this better is Casio's own EX-F1. The FH20 can do very close macro up to the equivalent of 520mm. If anyone knows of any other models of digital camera or camcorder which do better and more versatile high-speed video work than the FH20 then do pipe in.
