Universal healthcare requires a NON-PROFIT system, whereas our current system is a FOR-PROFIT system. To convert to a NON-PROFIT system requires the elimination of greedy FOR-PROFIT insurance companies and HMOs.

No, what it means is that there shouldn't be stockholder owned companies as the primary companies running health care. Instead Doctors and the Federal Government should work hand and hand on providing health care.

I know it's a little confusing at first, but you would have to understand how things are run where there are successful government run health care plans, i.e. NOT THE UK (even if the UK's system is better than our current system at reaching patients it fails compared to other's.)

The first problem is that the time to implement HR 676 is way longer than we can hope for, unless we were to make changes so quickly that they would cause total chaos within or system.

Because they're being paid by the health insurance companies. The only real universal heath care plan is HR 676. Hillary Clinton is a lying cunt (sorry ladies). Obama's plan won't work. Obama says those with health insurance will keep it at a reduced cost. The 47 million without health insurance will get the same coverage as congress and federal employees. So what's to stop people from dropping their heath insurance and getting it for free? HR 676, the best plan.
