What brings me hope?

A lot of things.

The kind and gentle and validating voice in my head that on good days I listen to instead of my Eating Disorder or even in addition to my ed. The one that says you have accomplished more then anyone ever thought possible, the one that has been totally shut down b/c even my eating disorder thoughts can't refute it. The one that reminds me INSPITE of everything, I will graduate university despite being told by my eating disorder and health care proffessionals that I would be a revolving door psych patient until I successfully commit suicide or starved The one that reminds me that INSPITE of everything I still trust or at the very least try to and that that is the shining example of resilience. This voice is the one that stalls my urge to selfdestruct, gives permission to tears and words, and praise although it may fall on deaf ears. This is the voice that perserveres against all odds, for even longer then I do.This is the voice of love and I have never stopped believing in love.

When I smile instead of making someone frown, sigh or cry that brings me hope. When I remember that although life is short there is no point rushing it, so sometimes its more important to remember from where we've come instead of where we're going I feel like I have something to hold on to. When I remember that I can still see the stars no matter how low I am, and that as long as I'm headed the opposite of where I was going it's the right direction I feel reassured. When I remember that the climb down the mountain is also hard but in a different way I am at peace with where I am. When I experience freedom and a moment where I live just for the beauty of it, Hope has made its way home.When I allow myself to dream that brings me not only hope but joy as well. Joy in itself is a form of very colourful and sparkly hope =P

When I know Im not alone that brings me hope. When I know someone is rooting and BELIEVING in me when I don't and I trust and respect their opinion that can inspire hope from the depths of despair or even worse nothing. When I see others succeed however sad or envious I maybe, I remember that there is rarely JUST one exception to a rule, that there's another one coming, and it may be me I am hopeful.

this was such a great video....HOPE...that's my word. this word means so much to me. i have art that i've made and a report from school hung up in my room all about hope. i mean, without hope that u will recover, how will u?
