  • OMG!!!!!! Steven Hawking walk and speak... It´s a miracle

  • Well most of the people that watch my shows know how to spell illusion and they also understand that when you buy a trick at a store you are also buying a secret, you are not buying the right to be a jackass and tell the world the secret. Key word there my friend "SECRET", something that is supposed to be kept from others to maintain it's value. As far as your uncle goes, how does he feel about the illusionist on TV revealing all of HIS secrets?

  • @CaraBrimleyRules You wish. I've destroyed your thinking at every point and at every turn. funworksfun2 proved and showed where your thinking is wrong two years ago. If you want to try to ignore it that's up to you. But that doesn't make you right. Public exposure (simply for the sake of exposure) is and never will be good for magic.

  • @MrOphachew Hahaha. Mr Ophachew, you are like a broken record. You are incapable of arguing my points cogently. You are just repeating the same tired old mantra over and over!

LOOK at my post below I am agreeing with you "What really matter is how you present the effect & how you entertain with it" Eg Judy Garland etc

Anyone can know the method, but the real secret is in the presentation. That's one of the reasons exposure's a non issue. You have proved my point for me thanks! QED

  • @CaraBrimleyRules --nope, I insists that just because one knows all the words to the song over the rain bow doesn't mean one can sing it like Judy 'Garland. Just because one likes to draw doesn't mean they can go work for disney or is even good enough to go work at disney. I sure there's many that think thats all there is to it. go meditate on the comment above that funworkfun2 left two years ago.

  • @MrOphachew That's fair enough, one can be a magician's magician. But the art of magic is not about the technicalities, it is about the art of entertaining with magic. That's why the method (and exposure etc) is actually a side issue. What really matter is how you present the effect and how you entertain with it.

  • @CaraBrimleyRules - So what, as great as Dai Vernon was(and still is) he was not known or well known outside of magic. That doesn't make him any less great.

  • @MrOphachew Penn & Teller are my Fave magic act. I love exposure and then a sucker punch. It's great entertainment for layman and technician alike, Because you can see how the layman is floored in by part two, and he gets it where he is not expecting it.

Lance Burton doesn't care about exposure either. Ask the public who is more entertaining ....Burton, P&T or Osterlind... and they won't even have heard of Osterlind. I think he is OK, but mentalism kind of sucks as entertainment.

  • @CaraBrimleyRules --Penn & Teller, :( they used to be pretty good until they went around exposing other magicians illusions. I've lost all respect for them and they no longer care anyway they've made a bundle of money and no longer care. Making magic harder to perform and making tricks harder to perform is no excuse for exposure simply for the sake of exposure. Guess I'll to ask youtube why you won't go in iggy?

  • @MrOphachew I do have a point.Magic is too vast and too technical for any exposure to make any difference. Teller once exposed the classic palm & then blew people away with a variation. Same with the Thumb Tip or should we say TT ;-) Same with the cups & balls. Penn & Teller have entertained with blatant exposure & then followed up with a sucker effect to show it doesn't matter. One has no chance of coping with the variations & technicalities unless one's studied for a long time

  • @CaraBrimleyRules -- One magic trick does not a point make. I'm talking about Magic in general and you know it. You have no point and you know it. There are more than enough resources out there now, and there has always been. Enough and probably to much.

  • @MrOphachew There's more exposure on MagicCafe than any other site on the net. The threads are crawling with it. And when a new effect comes out the latest and greatest threads are packed full of posts fishing for clues on the method. It's also clear that many of the posters are not performers but simply the idle curious who can also get access to more exposure simply by doing 50 posts. And this is supposed to be a site for magicians - even your beloved Osterlind posts there!
