This is my latest project a one man show on the last hours of Gonzo Journalist Hunter S Thompson.
On February 20th 2005 at his home in Woody Creek, Colorado, Hunter S Thompson decided that enough was enough. With his son in the next room he placed the business end of his colt 45 against the roof of his mouth and ended a career that inspired generations to question authority and more importantly to peek at the powers behind the curtain. Thompson's suicide came as no surprise to those who knew him well, as he had spoken of it often, but it still left a hole in the literary world that can never be filled again. The film takes place in Thompson's kitchen, a Mecca for the famous and infamous, where he's visited by the films protagonists, the Spirit of Gonzo. The puppets are based on long time collaborator Ralph Steadman's drawing of the same name. These characters force the good Dr. to face his faults, to come to grips with a life filled with questionable decisions, and to give him the strength to cross over when the end comes. The show hopes to shed light on what might have gone through his mind before the bullet that ended his life did.
