this idea isn't intended to get a reading on the toe in. the video is called "DIY Home Made Wheel Alignment Camber Tool "UNDER $7 BUCKS" " Near as I can tell it describes exactly that. there are a bunch of other vids that show you how to do rough toe adjustments.

Alternatively, you could put a socket over the lug nut. The back end of the socket would be a flat surface perfectly perpendicular to the wheel studs, which is what you're shooting for.

If the wheel is "toe in/out" horizontally, this way does not work at all.

@IcemanJD08 Yes, I understand that, but the 2 magnets seem to keep it centered..I had taken my car to an alignment shop and compared my level with theirs...it was pretty much dead on.

@IcemanJD08 Another thought if you are concerned about the roundness of the lug would be to purchase a cheap set or snag one at a junk yard and smooth out the top..might be tricky makin it perfectly level but it would work.
