the change at 1:20 made me laugh and my ears smile :)

Um, like, this song is about The Road? By Cormac McCarthy? Anyone?

yeah the vid should have been shot in real snow in the mts. somewhere. and the time period should have been like in the 40's. like when ppl didn't have much and maybe a couple would have to go out and try to scrape up something to eat. like in the lyrics they mentioned taking things that weren't theirs. stealing to eat. they mentioned rations like that was the arrangement maybe in their town but they ran out so they had to foraging in the winter. the vid doesn't fully depict the lyrics.

@marmas58ink This video isn't an official video, so some of it might be misleading. "It" refers to snow and how it's everywhere.

Each time I've heard this I've thought of it as sunlight. In the video it starts out as snow. Sure enough I'd heard that line "& we have the snowfall" each time. -Seeing the video, was thinking I misinterpreted the song. Was glad to see it 'moved on' after that. Still not much sunlight though...Don't know for certain what 'IT' is. (Maybe I should read the lyrics?) I only know I like it a lot!
Not many songs have a mid-section so different. This song reminds me of early Yes meets early NeilYoung.

1:10 the right side of the fence was low enouggh to walk over, instead they chose to climb over the higher part...

Kind of reminds me of Sea Wolf. That's meant to be a compliment. I've compared Midlake to Fleet Foxes and people keep breaking my balls, mostly Midlake fans. Yes, I know Midlake has been around longer. I didn't say they were clones, they somewhat remind me of Fleet Foxes, the greatest band on the planet.

i wish my life was more like this video.
