Every day, caregivers work hard to make the chimpanzees' home clean and their bellies full. This video shows an example of what the regular morning routine is like. To see more stories and videos, visit www.chimpsnw.org/blog

  • isn't hand feeding extremely dangerous to the feeder?

  • @Zoxesyr, it is true that getting too close to chimpanzees can be dangerous, especially because they are so strong and can even bite through bone! That is why caregivers never put their fingers through the fencing. The chimps can easily stick their lips out to get food. All the staff members have several years experience working with chimps and can train volunteers on proper safety procedures. It takes about 4 months on average to finish the caregiver training.
