@lenegal77 Because when AMC studios moved from New York to California, David Canary decided not to move with the show and retire. Adam left with Brooke, but only death would have made sense for not seeing Stuart anymore.

I loved watching Stuart on AMC. I always smiled and was filled with joy whenever he was on!!! He was the ideal grandpa and/or uncle. He reminded me of my late uncle Bob (he had Stuart's gentleness, kindness & loving spirit).

Who wants a happy character, loving character when you have a town full of thieves, killers, jackasses, and looney tunes? I loved Stuart as much as the next guy, but the show can go on without just like it went on without Mona, Phoebe, and Kate.

aww...well i guess DC will finally get an emmy for his adam chandler roll now! he has been great lately! his portrayal of grieving is real!
