Is it somehow also possible to get rid of a black background?

Without knowing exactly what you're working on I'd say you can try under the effects tab>color key, then choose black as your color and everything black will be removed. Just remember it will key out all that is black including if the subject is wearing black tie, etc. You can play with the tolerance and other levels until you get what you want. Also just try playing with the composite mode effects -luma, screen, multiply, add, subtract and you can get a lot of variety in your effects.

i tried this effect with a picture of a cockpit of a plane and placing a video of clouds behind the windows which i had previously colored white. After rendering, though, the clouds also partly showed up in other places of the cockpit, just faded a bit. I used the first way to do this (Modify- composite mode- Travel Matte, Luma) is there a way to get rid of these extra parts? any tips would be appreciated.. thanks you

One of the simplest ways I can think of may be stacking two pictures of the cockpit on top of each other but for the picture that is on the higher video track, crop the picture down to the size of the cockpit panels that way when you apply the effect to the lower video layer of the cockpit it doesn't matter that the cockpit is affected in addition to the clouds since you used a 2nd photo of the cockpit to cover up you didn't like. Play with this and see it that helps...and let us know...
