you can see her hand shaking when she fell to her knees, yet she got up with this huge smile on her face to assure the audience and laughs it off... RIP

The time where she almost collapses is at 3:30

Carmen Miranda suffered a heart-attack and yet she kept performing...She deserves a badass of the century award!
Heart-attacks have brought down sooo many strong and otherwise healthy military-type guys and they weren't able to do keep going like Carmen. Respect Carmen Miranda...respect!

An irreplaceable artist. Great Carmen!

Carmen's death, reported in the national and worldwide news daileys the very next day, after this television filming - splashed over the front pages of every major newspaper - was an incredible shock because her virbrant talent and endless energy made her passing seem too unbearably unreal to be believed. (I went back and looked at the "mircofilm copies" of the major newspapers of the day, and can fully attest to this!). Bless her heart and thanks for the smiles she brang - and still brings!

@nigelrugby , I agree it is haunting to see. the same thing happen to Red Foxx during rehearsals for The Royal Family, he suffered a fatal heart attack on the set. Cast and Crew thought he was doing his his classic "I'm coming, Elizabeth!" fake heart attack routine, but it turned out to be Real when he fell to the Floor which was NOT part of that routine. Sad that all theses legends are gone now.

No doubt she was a Trouper, watching this you could tell something was wrong before she droped to her knees, Some reports say she didn't know what happen, but she had to have know what happen or at least know something was wrong.

she kept a smile on all the time

Wow.. it must have taken forever to rehearse this segment!
The program was NOT live, but on film. Carmen suffered a mild heart attack in the middle of dancing with Durante. She drops to her knees, but quickly recovers to finish the show. What a trouper! At the end of the show, she kisses Durante, dances to the center of the stage, blows the audience a kiss, and dances out a door, which Durante closes. Carmen Miranda died later that night at her Beverly Hills home of a second--and fatal--heart attack. God bless this wonderful performer.

Wow, this is true Hollywood. She finished her performance regardless. You don't see stars that make an impact like this anymore or who have the glamour. Mickey Rooney said it best when he stated "There will never be or ever can be another Carmen Miranda".
