On Jan. 1 , 2008, Greg Boyd delivered a sermon to his congregation at Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, explaining how a tradition in the Western Church invites Christians to interpret certain Biblical teachings through the lens of legal analogies. Boyd believes these "legal" readings block modern readers' abilities to understand the intent of these Scriptures. Boyd offers another analogy.

@Isaacgregg have a go at seeing the diagram in terms of Gods abundant love and mercy, His grace and forgiveness, encouragement and strength and our response to God should be to show these things to our neighbours, friends, famillies and colleagues.
God often gives us jobs to do and empowers us for the tasks in hand. Sometimes this may involve a finanial blessing but not "only". God is our provider and has an unexagerratable abundance of love for us.
We should be imitators of Christ.

@dbzgtcrazy But it's not OUR RESPONSIBILTY to protect others from theirselves.. It's their decision if they abuse grace! sorry for the caps.. a little passionate..

That is, if it were possible.

If some poor unbeliever listened to what Boyd said at 7:00 and applied it to justification in their thought process concerning salvation, they'd be out of luck! I don't deny a connectedness between God's forgiveness of us and our forgiveness of others--of course it's biblical. But someone may run with this and say, based on Boyd's comments here, that justification is predicated not only on faith but on an existing willingness in an unbeliever to forgive; and that would be grounds for boasting.
