Oh no - when I loose a favorite sweater it's a major event in my life. I did patch one of mine with suede at the elbows and while it is now an "around the house" sweater, I can still wear it.

These are English combs by Peter Teal, he was copying combs he found in a museum with tines over a foot long. He didn't think modern spinners would cope if he copied them exactly so they are a much scaled down version.
The length of the tines affect the size of load you can get on there. You should only fill the tines 2/3rds of the way (otherwise when your fibre fluffls out you are likely to loose it off the top). When you are practiced the max load is 40g.

Enjoyed the video, I love combing fibers. However, I must comment on the lovely sweater you're wearing - ;-)

Aha! My Mum made it for me years ago (hand-spun and hand dyed of course!)But sadly just after I made the video I found it had gone in to holes at the elbows - will have to see if I can patch it, as it is so comfy to wear.
