Dearly miss New Orleans before Katrina because the city was 60%
African American. They had the say. Things were geared toward low
income people. You could live good in N.O. on a shoestring. Unlike
white cities, when you visited N.O. as a white person you were a
GUEST first, and were treated well by the black majority. (We were!).
In white tourist cities you are considered cattle to be FLEECED
out your money, but in N.O. prices were kept reasonable, and
greedy white speculators HATED IT!
