This is a proof of concept to increase the KDE text module (KTextEdit and KatePart) with additional functionalities based on regular expression pattern matching and action taking arguments. This patch would enable that kind of behavior in every KDE applications. Right now, all actions in this screencast are hard coded, but the framework to execute them is real. The QtScript, advanced syntax and delivery system are not done yet. This took about 3 hours of work to implement, but would took longer to get to a point where it is actually useful. Try the Plan9 acme editor to see the extent of what can be done using this technology.
i am also a user of kde, though 4.4.2 but this is a feature I'd like to have on my OS
