I have a very smart and lovable cockatiel named Nanners. He sings "If Your Happy and You Know it Clap Your Hands and the Andy Griffith Theme Song. Listen to him say whatcha doin, hello, peek a boo, & hello pretty bird. He can also say I love you, Scooby dooby doo and hello baby.

I used to have a male cockatiel that we got second hand from a friend of my mom's, by the name of Harlie. He would whistle a cavalry charge, call the dogs, a part of the andy griffith theme, and would say, among other things "pretty boy harlie" "here kitty, kitty" "gimme kiss", and would laugh like a fool if you said the latter to him.
He died a few years ago, and I miss his company a lot, for he was a good co-pilot when I would sit down to work on my computer, and was a good companion for me.

At first glimps it looks cute. But it isn't. The Bird desperetly sings for a girlfriend. It's normal behaviour in free nature for the cockatiel to impress the ladybird by singing better and louder than other males. It only shows that your little fellow needs a a friend of his own kind. In switzlerland, keeping a cockatiel alone without a mate is illegal.
