yes sir get it done... 110 watt panel may run at 44 volts at about 3to7 amps. DC.. so any wire rated to 7 amps or more will work, if on a low budget cut the ends off an outdoor rated extension cord of 16 to 12 gauge wire and you will be fine. get a multi meter so you can keep the positive and negative straight at both ends... white should be negative for usa codes.. get a small charge control too unless you use all your stored power each day.

6 awg wire is good for about 50 amps of DC and the fuse is set for this load ... larger wire is better as really huge amounts can be drawn during big AC power use.. (pricey) 250 amp wire and fuse is not uncommon on pro setups.. AC output wire can be much smaller ..direct wiring with fat cable is the way to go..
. this xantrex is $900 new $ 300 used.. ebay! boat stores or AEE solar on the internets
