Vanessa Williams, Jason Alexander, and Marc Kudisch star in the 1995 TV film "Bye Bye Birdie" based on the Broadway musical of the same name.

In this scene, Rosie (Williams) and Hugo (Jason Gaffney) plot a way to ruin the broadcast of the Ed Sullivan Show. Conrad (Kudisch) sings on the show ("One Last Kiss") and as he leans in to kiss Kim (Chynna Phillips), Hugo runs onstage and punches him in the face. On live television, Conrad collapses, Rosie breaks up with Albert (Alexander), and Albert, trying to cover for the mishaps of the evening, leads a chorus of "A Healthy, Normal, American Boy" (Reprise).

  • @wesuvius They take it too far, giving the roles of teenagers to almost 30-somethings. Some women can sometimes pull them out. This is not the case. This Kim is obviously so not a teenager. Winona Ryder looked 13 whe she was 18, and Olivia Newton John almost passed for a teenager at 32... But this Kim doesn't cut it. I pity the actress, she does her best, but she just doesn't look the age. But then again, the comparison is against Ann Margret. She was bound to lose.

  • i like this version but the original 60's version is awesome

  • @mightytosave24 same here. Im the wardrobe person.

  • My school is doing this show. I get to be Conrad's makeup artist!!!!

  • @mssassy112 I really have to disagree, he barely acts at all in that version

  • I love that the whole "Revolutionary War" segment is in this version!! I've always read that in the script but I've never seen it done. As random as it is, I like it! But besides the fact that Conrad is going to war, is there any other reason for it that I'm not realizing?

  • the older one is better! ):

  • i liked the how the actors looked in the 60's version but more talent is in this one and Conrad ROCKS!

  • Awkward at :49...he's going to give him his hat but then the little boy doesn't take it xD

  • Brace yourself conrad birdie! Eric could never hurt a fly! haha!

  • he sounds funny and the clothes look ridiculous compawrd to the original. the 63 version is way better especially since i never knew another one existed.
